BFX has secured a contract to provide furniture valued at 1.5 million dollars to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital which is due to open in late 2016.
Under the contract, BFX will install workstations with screening, consultation room desks, and office storage for a total of 1752 workstations/offices distributed over 6 floors.
“As a local supplier it has been a real coup to secure this contract. It has provided an extra 20-30 jobs covering factory, delivery and installation teams,” BFX Project Manager Erick Buma said.
The Sunshine Coast University Hospital is expected to open with about 450 beds and is estimated to grow to 738 beds by 2021. The public tertiary facility will address the growing health service needs of the Sunshine Coast community.
“BFX were able to demonstrate that the product offered was not only the most competitive, but also presented the best value for money, with a guarantee that the furniture chosen would exceed the required lifetime of the product,” Mr Buma said.
He added, “BFX was also able to work with interior designers and architects to come up with a cost effective, smart looking and very functional design.”
BFX in partnership with Sunshine Coast University Hospital will revolutionise healthcare services in the Sunshine Coast region.
