Product safety and quality

product safety

BFX Furniture has an enduring commitment to the suitability, safety and sustainability of our products and practices. Our goal is to forever enhance the social, environmental, and economic sustainability of our business and to be at the forefront of our industry’s efforts to reduce its environmental impact.

We achieve this through ethical sourcing and continuous improvement in our use of raw materials, energy and resources, waste minimisation and recycling, and furniture design that ensures our products are fit-for-purpose and built to last.

Our starting premise is an unblemished record of compliance with all local, state and federal legislation and Australian standards. Our products and services comply with Australian Consumer Law.

product safety and quality

Our furniture is manufactured and assembled in factories that are ISO 9001 (Quality Management System) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System) certified.

BFX Furniture complies with all relevant Australia and New Zealand standards to ensure it is safe and fit-for-purpose. We only use leading independent testing organisations including SGS and AFRDI to test the safety and quality of our products, and ensure they meet or exceed Australian standards.

We pursue high standards of environmental sustainability in our products, a range of which have been independently certified by GECA (Good Environmental Choice Australia). We only use timber materials derived from sources certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). Other raw materials are selected for their durability, suitability, and product safety attributes. All products containing formaldehyde such as plywood, particleboard, MDF, compact laminate and decorative wood panels are certified for Formaldehyde Emission of E0.

We also conduct routine supplier evaluation of our third-party suppliers and supply chain mapping that encompasses a range of environmental and ethical risks, including modern slavery.
